This is a remarkable collection of photographs cataloging the set designs from some of the films that Charlie Staffel must have worked on whilst at Pinewood. A lot of the negatives were separated from their named envelopes by the time I received them so if you recognize which films they came from then please contact me and I will start to attribute them. |

The condition of the negatives varied considerably from near perfect to total 'write offs', the wax paper sleeves that protected some of the 5"x4" negatives looked as if the glue that closed off the ends had seeped out through damp conditions. This reacted with the celluloid and emulsion causing physical distortions across the area. Below are some examples that I managed to scan successfully. |
